Finally tonight, the Speaker of Parliament, Gramoz Ruçi, met with Qatar's Speaker of Parliament, Ahmad Al-Mahmoud.

Ruçi is on an official visit to Qatar together with a parliamentary delegation comprised of the head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, and several MPs including: Vilma Bello and Musa Ulqini, as well as the Secretary-General of the Albanian Parliament, Genc Gjoncaj.

Speaker Ruçi noted that bilateral relations with Qatar are currently very good.

Ruçi suggested expanding parliamentary co-operation through increased contact between friendships, parliamentary committees, government institutions, and private enterprises in both countries.

Moreover, Ruçi asked for Qatar's for Kosovo's Interpol membership, and added that Albania is also interested in cooperating with Qatar in the framework of international organizations. Stating:

“It will be of Albanian interest to bolster the economic cooperation and increase Qatar's investments in strategic projects around the country.

“Among them, I would like to highlight the signed economic and trade agreements, as well as the actions by the Qatar government in facilitating and lifting visas for Albanians.

Meanwhile, Speaker of Qatar’s Parliament emphasized that the State of Qatar is very interested and determined to expand and strengthen their co-operation with Albania as a friendly country.

In the final moments of his speech, the Speaker of Parliament underlined that Albania wants a solution as soon as possible regarding Qatar’s conflict with neighboring states.
