Rape Of Minors, Lleshaj Demands An Increase In Sentences For Abusers

The Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj estimates that the time has come to intervene in the legislation by strengthening the penalties for sexual abusers.

From the Hani i Hotit border crossing, Lleshaj told reporters that the case of the minor, who was abused by the chief of the Fushë Arrëz police station, when he was effective, is an alarm bell that should receive the deserved punishment.

"The time has come to fundamentally review our approach to protecting victims of sexual violence, especially minors, by increasing penalties as a whole, especially penalties for custodians should be increased and multiplied," said Interior Minister Sander Lleshaj.

Lleshaj stressed that the issue will be resolved by the end.

In response to the interest of journalists, Lleshaj said that the death penalty will not be returned to Albania for such cases, but stressed that cooperation between the authorities and society should be increased in the future.

Rape - Another case of rape shocked the country. The event was marked in 2015 on the premises of the Shkodra police station.
