Petrit Fusha resigned, prosecutor of the general prosecution directs a letter to

A Prosecutor from the General prosecution, Petrit Fusha, has resigned from duty.

By an official document submitted to the High Council of Prosecution, Fusha explained that, after 32 years of service with the General Prosecution, he believes that the experience he has gained can be better utilized for another activity with less pressure.

“At times we are being overfilled with both fair and unfair events, and other phenomena. A professional at my age decides with prudence the place where he can contribute better,” writes Fusha in his resignation.

He states that for this reason, he judged that the Prosecution is no longer the place where his 32 years of experience, which has been accumulated by investigative and trial proceedings of every kind of issue and level, is best utilized.

“Under these conditions I submit my resignation from duty as Prosecutor to the General Prosecution and from the prosecution service,” prosecutor Fusha writes in his resignation.

The High Council of the Prosecution has announced that it is reviewing the resignation and has decided to close the mandate of the prosecutor Petrit Fusha on 31 March 2019.

According to the letter signed by the chief prosecutor, the deadline for application for those interested is March 20th, 2019.

On the 28th of February, the Appeal Chamber decided to dismiss the prosecutor, Antoneta Sevdari, and as such she is automatically withdrawn from the post as a member of the High Council of Prosecution.

In a letter directed to the International institutions and organizations, Sevdari expressed her concern that the process of Vetting has become a corrupt mechanism, aimed at convicting persons and taking revenge on fair prosecutors and judges.
