With 75 votes in favor the Parliament today approved the law to ban gambling in the territory of Albania.

Socialist Party MPs, after the parliamentary deliberations, unanimously voted for the law on gambling.

Meanwhile with 74 votes in favor MPs of the majority knocked down the President Ilir Meta's decree for the National Theater. 

It has been learned that it was the Minister for Diaspora, Pandeli Majko, who voted against overthrowing the decree of President Ilir Meta.

The vote was welcomed by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

“100% of the MPs present in the Assembly voted to approve the ban on gambling, including electronic casinos, or any other kind of offline or online betting, effective December 31st,” declared Edi Rama.

The Assembly also approved the draft law on the protection of minors from alcohol with 75 votes in favour.
