Meta Seeks A Referendum

The Head of the State, Ilir Meta, is ready to address those in favor of Rama. According to him, the clash for the Constitutional Court is resolved neither by internationals nor by the opinion of Venice.

After consulting with former Presidents and representatives of the new judiciary, Meta sees the referendum as the only alternative to resolving the crisis that has included the judiciary, politics and the internationals.

“There is only one solution for Edi Rama and some harlequin internationals, most of them with integrity: The Referendum,” he said.

“They can go out with Edi Rama, but I will go out with all the Albanians who have to take over the sovereignty of the country because tomorrow is the day when the Albanian people voted for the Constitution. So get your hands off the Constitutional Court,” said Meta.

The Head of State also considers the dismissal of Benisk Muçi as part of the political process. Stating:

“I stand with my spokesperson, Tedi Blushi’s statement. There was zero surprise from the party’s vetting. He declared himself just a few days ago by the Deputy Prime Minister for Besnik Muçi, “and I confirm that he had political pressure put on him on the first day that he took duty so as to include him as part of the coup to refrain Mrs. Marsida Xhaferllai from exercising her duties as a member” of the Constitutional Court,”

Ilir Meta directly accused former Interior Minister, Fatmir Xhafaj, of pressuring a member of the Constitutional Court.

Despite the President's accusations of “internationals helping Prime Minister Edi Rama seize the justice system”, when it comes to the US, Ilir Meta puts his hand to his heart.
