Income from Tourism, tourists bring 331 mln euro

2018 seems to be a positive year for the economy in terms of tourism income.

Data from the Bank of Albania data for the first quarter of the year showed that foreign tourists have bought 331 million euro into the country, 10% more than when compared to the same period of the previous year.

But despite the increase in the number of foreign tourists, it is also noted that the number of Albanians who have traveled abroad to spend the holidays has increased, at an estimated total cost of 254 million euro.

In this way, travel services were closed with a positive balance of 78 million euro which benefited the Albanian economy at a time when previous years this balance had been negative.

Meanwhile, in the coming months the expectations are even higher, as many tourists are predicted to come to Albania to enjoy the beautiful coastline.

According to the government, Albania will host about 6 million tourists during 2018, mainly from countries such as Poland and the Czech Republic, just to name a few.

The government's target for the next five years is to receive 10 million tourists annually.
