More than 2 million foreign tourists visited Albania during the first six months of this year.

Tourism Minister, Blendi Klosi underlined the negative effects of the political crisis and protests, but reiterated that, despite this, tourism has still increased, with about 200 thousand more foreign tourists visiting Albania than the same period last year.

According to Klosi, the mass arrival of Swiss citizens and other tourists coming from Scandinavian countries was the surprise of the year.

The Minister acknowledged that there are still problems with seaside businesses, with almost half of them still not having realized contracts with the relevant municipalities.

Blendi Klosi stressed that tourism in our country continues to have problems, but added that the government is continuing with efforts to minimize them.
