Lack of physical activity and malnutrition are the main causes of the occurrence of heart disease, which were listed by INSTAT as the leading cause of death in Albanian citizens.

Cardiologists underline that this phenomenon has increased since the 1990s, when Albanians were a more active society, most of whom walked on foot or on a bicycle, whereas nowadays choose to use cars, adding that the risk of obesity becoming a problem for our society continues to rise.

Recently, the heart disease alert has also become relevant for young people, whose cases are on the rise according to cardiologist Daniela Telefici.
