Deforestation of Bulqiza, Klosi to verify, suspend contract

Minister of Tourism and Environment, Blendi Klosi has been faced with continuous protests from Bulqiza residents and as such has decided to rescind on the tender for cutting down forest in the area.

Klosi promised residents that the previously awarded contract would be verified and if needed, legal proceedings will be initiated for its suspension.

"As a citizen I am with you. As Minister, I will follow the legal procedures for the verification and suspension of this contract," confirmed Blendi Klosi.

Forest damage, Klosi said, cannot be accepted at a time when his Ministry has promised to plant 20 million, 200 thousand trees by the year 2020.

"We have promised 20 million and 200 thousand trees by 2020. This is a very beautiful area that should not be built on the destruction of the environment, but on the development in the use of natural resources," said Blendi Klosi.

Speaking openly in acceptance of any kind of reaction to the environment, Minister Blendi Klosi said that the alliance with residents is important and for this reason he traveled to Bulqiza to closely follow their concerns.
