Constitutional Court Deadlock

With 97 votes in favor and only 4 abstentions, the Assembly today approved a resolution against Meta's decree in the Constitutional Court and according to Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Head of State has lost his compass.

Regarding the election of two members in the Court by the majority and the automatic entry of the other member, Arta Vorpsi, Rama said the actions were fully accepted by Albania's strategic allies.

But, Ilir Meta says Rama has been against Judicial Reform since day one.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the special law, which will be presented on November 25th against the so-called "Catch What you Can Catch" group, and said that it will ‘shake’ the foundations on which the buildings of organized crime in Albania sit upon.

The resolution will be attached to the report of the Inquiry Commission, which was set up months ago to remove the President after the latter canceled the June 30th election and decreed a new date.
