All Albanian citizens traveling to Western Balkan countries, that is Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia, will have almost identical phone tariffs as their domestic communication service.

The Director of Market Regulation at AKEP, Altin Rrapaj, stated that with the new agreement reached with telecom companies, consumers will benefit from tariff reductions of up to 99% for data roaming.

Aiming beyond simply an agreement with Balkan countries, the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority has also begun discussions for reducing roaming tariffs with EU countries.

In particular, Albanian citizens seek a reduction in charges with Greece and Italy, as these countries host the highest numbers of Albanian emigrants.
