The Central Election Commission has called on political parties to submit annual financial reports for 2017.

It turns out that from 128 political parties, so far, only 18 have submitted their report to the CEC, despite the March 31st deadline fast approaching.

"The Central Election Commission is determined to respect the law, so we remind you that the deadline for submission of financial reports is 31 March 2018.

"Violations of the deadline for submission of financial reports, or reports submitted in violation of standardized format approved by the CEC as per Article 23/4 of the Law on Political Parties, will be punished with a fine ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 lekë," announced the CEC.

Meanwhile, the Central Election Commission has invited licensed accounting experts to express their interest to this institution, for auditing the funds received and spent by political parties during the year.

April 8 is the deadline for every accounting expert, who meet the criteria, to apply.
