Albin Kurti: We are looking forward to return to the talks with DLK

The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti has announced that even after submitting the nomination for prime minister, no agreement has been reached with the Democratic League of Kosovo.

Kurti, through a video posted on Facebook, has announced that they are ready for new meetings with the DLK, in order to find alternatives to reach a co-government agreement.

“We wanted to send the proposal of the Vetëvendosje Movement as a winner in the October 6 election to the president after an agreement with the LDK.

At the constituent meeting on December 26th I went without an agreement, even to the president on January 6th without prior agreement.

Two weeks after the four-minute meeting took place, we still have no agreement on the government.

We have not accepted the DLK proposal, but have shown ourselves ready for further meetings with a view to finding alternatives that would be acceptable to both parties.

I believe we can go back, and have the obligation to go back to the negotiating table, not to come out until a consensus is reached and our agreement is decided upon.”

Kurti realized that the Speaker of the Assembly would not give this request to the DLK.

“We started by liberating the leadership of the Assembly from capture.

The Speaker who insulted and threatened others is no longer, and instead a new Speaker, Glauk Konjufca came into their place.

I believe we should go back to the negotiating table. In the coming days I will also meet the minorities for their input.”
