The new politicians elected in Kosovo have pledged to intensify Albania-Kosovo trade relations.

Nevertheless, trade between the two countries is facing barriers from both countries: The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nikolin Jaka, saying it's even more worrying that reference prices are still being used between the two countries.

According to Jaka, despite the agreements and joint meetings so far, none of them have been applied.

According to INSTAT data, during the eight-month period, countries with which Albania has had the largest exportation growth, compared to the previous year, is Kosovo at 19.7%.

During the period between January and August of 2018, Albania exported 16.8 billion leke of goods to Kosovo, while 21.1 billion lekë were exported into Kosovo from the start this year; an increase of about 5 billion lekë.
