University accreditation, DEAN: Positive re-evaluation expected

The University of Tirana has prepared the material for the fulfillment of the recommendations of the Accreditation Board, after the assessment by the British Accreditation Agency who provided only a conditional 1 year approval for accreditation.

On April 15th, the Board will see the steps taken by the University of Tirana, while the Dean of the University said that the working group has made an internal assessment of the institution and are awaiting the re-evaluation.

"We expect the revaluation on April 15th to be positive as the recommendations have been fulfilled," declared the Dean.

Given that students who are currently in their last year of high school are now at the stage of submitting applications for university programs, the Dean went on to clarify some important information surrounding the accredidation.

"The conditional accreditation related to the institution, not for the individual study programs," explained the Dean.

The evaluation report of all public and non-public universities was published in September 2017.

Some higher education institutions were given a 6 month conditional accreditation, with the request for fulfillment of recommendations and criteria.

In April, Universities are expected to go through the assessment process to determine the completion of the recommendations.
