Tirana judge dismissed IQC reconfirms prosecutor Petrit Çano for duty

The Independent Qualification Commission has reconfirmed the head of Kruja's prosecution, Petrit Çano, for duty.

Following the assessment made by the Independent Qualification Commission, it resulted that there were no causes for concern relating to Prosecutor Çano across the three criteria of Vetting.

At the hearing, Çano received a particularly positively assessment in relation to the purity of his figure.

The Directorate for Security of Classified Information has not found contacts between the Head of Kruja's Prosecution Office and persons related to organized crime, thus signifying his suitability to the continuation of duty.

For professionalism, Çano was highly appreciated by the General Prosecution.

Meanwhile, the Independent Qualification Commission has dismissed Tirana Court Judge, Anila Guri, who was also a candidate for the Constitutional Court.

The Independent Qualification Commission informed that wealth problems for Anila Guri were noted in the report by the High Inspectorate of Declaration, Audit of Assets and Conflict of Interests, Or HIDAACI.

According to this report, Judge Anila Guri “did not make accurate declarations regarding the property, has no legitimate sources, has concealed wealth and assets, and made a false declaration.”
