Police agents, State Police's innovation to prevent accidents

The State Police have introduced a novel method to prevent accidents, by installing civilian verification agents. They are placed in the most problematic axes, but this method is considered unfair by the drivers.

They are effectively officers of the Road Police dressed as civilians, but identifying them or escaping their eye is almost impossible.

What is known for sure is that the State Police has deployed civilian agents in the most problematic axes where the flow of vehicles is high.

After they find road rule violations, they photograph them and pass that information on to the nearest police patrol which, based on the violation, imposes a penalty on the driver of the vehicle.

This method is being applied for the first time in Tirana and will be used in other cities across the country. Yesterday, as a result of the work of the civilian verification agents, the State Police punished nearly 350 drivers and motorcyclists.
