Changes In Kamza

Kamza is one of the last municipalities that the opposition must hand over to the Socialists.

The Mayor in Duty, Xhelal Mziu, has refused to step down from his post or vacate the premises of the Municipality offices, as he does not recognize the June 30 elections.

As such, the members of the new municipal council were forced to hold their swearing in ceremony at the “Ibrahim Rugova” School, which will temporarily remain their offices.

The ceremony was led by Prefect Suzana Jahollari, who was indicted by the Democratic Party.

The newly elected mayor, Rakip Suli, has promised to be engaged in the development of the city and work for the citizens, no matter who they politically align with.

Dozens of Mziu supporters gathered in front of Kamza municipality, while the deputy mayor of the Municipality underlined that the June 30th voting process was illegal.

The Kamza municipal council will have 40 Socialist Party coalition members and one member from the Democratic Conviction.
