Albania bans Boeing, Albania joins long list of countries suspending the Boeing

Albania has agreed with the decision made by the European Aviation Safety Agency to ground all Boeing 737 Max8 and Max9 aircraft.

Although the move was officially supported by Albania, it has been learned that none of the flights operating out of Tirana's Mother Theresa International Airport utilize these models. This measure comes after a fatal accident involving a Ethiopan Airlines Boeing 737 Max which occurred on March 10. Shortly after takeoff from Adis Ababa the plane plunged from the sky, resulting in the deaths of all 157 passengers on board.

The incident has caused alarm over the reliability of Boeing's latest aircraft. The Chicago-based company announced through a statement that it is working on new flight control software.

Meanwhile, in the United States, authorities have not yet acted.

The Federal Aviation Administration said that it had not observed "systematic operational problems" despite continual observation and, as such, saw no reason to suspend the aircraft or flight close airspace.

Many of the world's nations acted immediately to the news of the crash, comparing the incident to another accident occurring last year, during which a Boeing 737 crashed into the sea nearby Indonesia causing the deaths of 189 people.
